Since my son lives in Brooklyn, I have been following this story and praying.Thank you for the update!
Will most definitely be praying for these churches. I would hope that this action would be a call to action for every Christian in this country to pray. We need to pray without ceasing that the Gospel will continue to be preached regardless of any municipal, political or secular roadblocks that are put before us. I pray that this might be seen as an opportunity for each and everyone of us at UH as well those directly affected by this decision, to truly go on Mission for Jesus. For us to physically engage ourselves in our communities and reach out to those in need. Being on Mission is active. It’s actively pursuing our co-workers, our neighbors, friends and families and those that are lost. While we should be praying without ceasing for all of these, we must be on mission and that is active participation in other peoples lives. I challenge us all to reach out, leave fear and discomfort behind and trust in the Jesus we worship to guide us in going on mission for Him!
The Pursuit
Pursuing things our hearts desired
Shadows of goodness, shadows of God
Searching each path and ev’ry corner
For a peace unknown, a light unshown
Unknown to us our path was mired
Filthy and dirty, stained from within
Finding each corner dark and defiled
Defeated we were and would’ve been
Were it not for your grace
You took our place
When you died on that tree
You made us free
Emptied our hands, breaking our cover
Showers of goodness, grace undeserved
Finding Your peace in ev’ry corner
The pathway lit by what You’ve given
Were it not for your grace
You took our place
When you died on that tree
You made us free
Coming to save us, You descended
Living to love us, died to save us
Buried and rising, You defeated
Death, sin, and their power over us
Were it not for your grace
You took our place
When you died on that tree
You made us free
Plus good weather, an overwhelming voter turnout. Cast a ballot!
Continuing to pray. I know they were encouraged by your presence today.
Keeping Urban Hills in our prayers….everyday.
Thank you for your prayers. I know they have made a difference. I have been feeling much better since yesterday afternoon. I went to work for a half a day today and feel like I’m getting back to normal. Thanks so much again! Betty
Praying for peace in the wake of their loss. It is difficult to say goodby for now.
Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes
My prayers are for Said Musa as well – if there is a way that the cup of death my pass – hallelujah – if not may he die well as the Christians of old persecuted by Nero for entertainment – they were delivered from the pain of this present world as they died with God’s praises in their mouth – their deaths inspired others to seek Christ!
Oh that we may learn to appreciate our freedom – to live a life that glorifies God in the midst of a perverse and wicked society!
Heart Question: If we cannot live for Him now how do we know we would have the strength and courage to die for Him if need be?
Jim was sent home yesterday as well. Thanks for being a church who believes in prayer!
